Anderson's 108 Points Lead the Field as PSE's Run Falls Short

EKO Staff··

Elijah Anderson finished the tournament as its leading scorer, and that ranking sits at the center of his MVP case. No player in the field put up more points across the bracket.

The line tells the story plainly. Anderson averaged 27.0 points across 4 games, totaling 108 points while connecting on 23 threes. He led PSE (Powder Springs Elite) in scoring, and he earned Player of the Game honors in 3 of those 4 outings. His team did not reach the final.

The signature game came against Hoop Atlanta Orange, where Anderson scored 35 points and buried 8 threes on his way to Player of the Game. He followed with another standout against 444, posting 32 points with 6 threes and a second Player of the Game nod. Against Camden Elite 3SG, he added 21 points and 5 more threes, a quieter contribution by his standard but enough to keep the scoring leaderboard in his name.

The argument rests on the numbers. Anderson ranked first in the field in scoring, led his own team, and collected coach recognition in nearly every game he played. The 23 threes underline the volume behind the 108 points. It was an MVP run built on a tournament-high average and three Player of the Game honors, the kind of stat sheet that does not require embellishment.

The finish complicates the simple narrative. PSE did not advance to the title game, which means Anderson's case is not the case of a champion. Instead it is the case of the best individual tournament regardless of where his team landed. The leading scorer in the field carried his team as far as he could, and the line he left behind made the honor difficult to dispute.
