Caleb Marshall Shoots STARS to the Title

EKO Staff··

Caleb Marshall arrived at the tournament and left with the trophy, and the case for him as MVP runs straight through the box scores. He averaged 22.0 points across 4 games for STARS Basketball Club, piling up 88 points and 24 threes while collecting 2 Player-of-the-Game awards.

The signature night came against the Monroe County Wolves 10th, when Marshall poured in 37 points on 11 threes and took Player of the Game. He matched the recognition again versus Team Scoot, scoring 24 points behind 6 threes for a second Player of the Game nod. The pattern held against Team Bo Bell, where he added 17 points and knocked down 5 more from deep. The threes were a constant from the first game to the last.

The numbers make the argument plainly. Marshall finished second in scoring across the field and led his own team in points, the engine behind a STARS roster that included Aaron Adams, Graham Harris and Jett Reddick. An average near the top of the bracket, 24 threes over 4 games and two coach-given Player of the Game honors form the spine of the resume. Nearly all of his scoring carried the same shape, with the three-point line doing much of the work.

That is the rare run where the individual case and the team case point at the same player. Marshall topped his team in scoring, ranked among the best in the field, and was honored twice along the way. STARS Basketball Club won the title, and Marshall was the one putting up the points that got them there.
