Declan Wright Posts the Tournament's Top Scoring Run

EKO Staff··

Declan Wright finished as the tournament MVP, and the case starts with the scoresheet. He ranked first in the field in scoring while collecting three Player-of-the-Game honors across four games.

The full line reads 28.8 points a game and 115 total points over those four contests, with 15 threes mixed in. He led his team in scoring throughout, though Free Throw Academy Black did not reach the final.

The run had clear high points. Against Redline - Elite, Wright put up 36 points with 8 threes and earned Player of the Game. He followed with 34 points against Britt Basketball Academy, this time leaning on inside work with just 2 threes, and again took Player of the Game. A third honor came against Dunwoody United, where he scored 32 points and knocked down 4 threes. The remaining game filled out a body of work that stayed near 30 points each time out.

The why-them argument is straightforward. Wright led the entire field in scoring, paced his own roster, and walked away with Player-of-the-Game recognition in three of his four appearances. The pieces fit together as an MVP run built on a tournament-high average, a steady three-point stroke, and coach recognition across the bracket.

The team's path ended before the title game, which makes this a different kind of MVP story. Wright did not finish with a championship, but he assembled the most productive individual tournament of any player in the division. Across four games he scored more than anyone else and earned the bracket's most-repeated nod from the coaches. The hardware sat on the team that won; the best individual run belonged to Wright.
