Taylyn Livengood Collects MVP With Four POGs and a Title

EKO Staff··

Taylyn Livengood earned MVP honors with a case that needs little argument: four Player-of-the-Game awards, the second-best scoring average in the field, and a championship to close it out.

The line tells the frame. Across 7 games for the High Plains Storm, Livengood averaged 11.3 points a game, totaling 79 points and 14 threes while her team finished as champions.

The signature work came in bunches. Against TexasMade Elite she scored 15 points and connected on 5 threes, taking Player of the Game. She matched that 15-point output against the Defenders, this time with 3 threes, and earned the nod again. Her highest scoring night came versus the Lady Legends, where 17 points and 2 threes brought a third Player-of-the-Game honor. The rest of the bracket filled out a fourth POG and the points that built her total.

The why is in the numbers. Livengood ranked second in the field in scoring and led the Storm in that category. The four Player-of-the-Game awards across the bracket marked the coach recognition that followed her from game to game. An MVP run built on a tournament-high-adjacent average, 14 threes, and four POG honors leaves a clear trail.

It all landed on the team that won. Livengood led the High Plains Storm in scoring through 7 games and finished with the title in hand. The run is the case, and the championship is the proof.
